Mr JazziQ

Born in the east of Johannesburg in the township of Alexandra, Tumelo Manyoni commonly known as Mr. JazziQ, started his DJ and producing journey at the tender age of 16. Surrounded by music lovers, Mr. JazziQ would rush home from school to practice on the equipment he found at home.


He later rose to fame as a member of the Amapiano DJ duo JazziDisciples. The group dominated the music industry as they featured on several major events including ‘AfroPunk’ and ‘Music is King’ in 2019.


He continued to release successful projects, including the EP "For The Babies" in August 2020, featuring artists like Kamo Mphela, Lady Du, and Londie London. In October 2020, he collaborated with Busta 929 on the album "Maba Jabul’ Abantu," featuring artists such as Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Mpura, Riky Rick, and 9umber. In November 2020, he was featured on Busiswa's album "My Side of The Story" on the single "Makazi."

In January 2021, he released the single "Amaneighbour," featuring Killer Kau, Reece Madlisa, Zuma, and ThackzinDJ, which peaked at #7 on Good Hope FM's Top 10 House Chart. He also released the single "Woza," featuring Lady Du, Boohle, and Kabza De Small, and was featured on Felo Le Tee's single "Nje Nje" alongside Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Mpura, and Kabza De Small.


On April 23, 2021, he released his second album, "Party With The English," marking his first international push. In September 2021, he performed live at the AmaFest Tour in the UK alongside local musicians Focalistic, Cassper Nyovest, DBN Gogo, and Kamo Mphela. On August 11, 2022, he released his third album, "All You Need Is Piano," featuring the duo Murumba Pitch, Mpura, Lady Du, Tsiki XII, and F3 Dipapa.

The talented DJ explored several business opportunities, which led to him opening the ‘Junk Park’ establishment in 2020 which is home to great music and authentic South African food. Mr JazziQ later parted ways with JazziDisciples and began his journey as a solo artist. In 2020 Mr. JazziQ released his debut EP, ‘0303’ which gained over 3 million streams. The EP consists of hits such as ‘Askies’ featuring Moonchild Sanelly and ‘Nguwe’ featuring Daliwonga.

Throughout his career, Mr JazziQ has been recognized with several awards and nominations, including Best Male Amapiano Artist and Best Amapiano Collaboration at the SA Amapiano Music Awards in 2021. Mr JazziQ's innovative approach to Amapiano has solidified his position as a leading figure in South Africa's music industry.


In 2023 Mr. JazziQ’s featured on the cover of GQ magazine as he continued to inspire the youth by reopening his establishment ‘Vibes On Main’, with a new look and feel to give a platform to more artists in the industry. In August 2024, Mr Jazziq dropped a highly anticipated joint album with Vigro Deep ‘The grass is greener’, marking a significant collaboration between the two amapiano giants. This partnership has set the stage for a new wave of fresh sounds and energy within the genre. As 2025 unfolds, all signs point to another groundbreaking year for Mr Jazziq, with even greater heights expected for his career in the ever-evolving amapiano scene.
